Statement | Sarah Lynch

I am a video/performance artist. You might be wondering what that term means, but it's the only way I can explain what I do. Basically, I choose something to challenge my fears, like flashing at cars, and act it out for the camera. Or an idea comes to my head and I use the camera to catch the moment as evidence. Most of the time the intention of my work comes after I have made it. My work questions the role of the artist and the role of woman in our society. The main pattern in my work is rebelling against the nice girl stereotype. I like being a nice girl who does naughty things.
