Statement | Co Gruendler

My work consists of different media: video, installation, photography, painting and music.

I`m working in themes, which means that the media needs to suit the idea. My topics are the melancholy, mysteries and the uncanny.

I`m fascinated by the night as the world of the unconcious and the romantic, of dreams and nightmares, not only by it`s beauty, but also it`s danger, violence and depths, which are lurking in the dark. It`s my aim to evoke a misterious and uncanny amtosphere.

"At night another world opens up, which reveals the divine and the demonic, where the future is presaged in a dream or in ghostly portents, until - at dawn - the fragile and separated world is once again draw into a fixed order through clear lines of division."
